I just got to know that my office is going to mandate coming to office at least twice a week, and that too on non-consecutive days. Considering the city in which the office is located, this is going to wipe the floor with my pitiful salary and leave practically nothing behind. It is a 4 – 5 hour commute to office from my home, which costs less than staying in the city, but I am required to stay in the office city even when I will be working from home. I was hoping to save money for future, but I guess all my plans are going to go down the drain now because someone did not like seeing empty office space. I have been looking for other jobs and applied to 4 or 5 positions but I have never even made it past the CV selection so I guess I am stuck here for now as I am in a situation where I need a job to survive.
I am not really hoping for anything, but it is just that I felt so sad and depressed that I wanted to share it with someone.
Also, I cannot really understand the point of asking employees to come to office even when they can do their job from home with better productivity and mental and physical health and hence benefitting the company by not requiring pizza parties. /s
