Taken off a project after less than a month for something that wasn’t even my fault

I just need to vent fo a minute. I was unemployed for quite a while due to health issues and I still can't work full time because of it. After months of trying to find a part time job and being ghosted or reject by every single one of them I finally decided to try my hand at a different kind of work. I got brought on by a company as an independent contractor to help train AI chatbots. The company works with different clients to get various projects for us to work on, and each project has several different types of tasks.

For example the one I was on involved a lot of double checking responses generated by these bots for things like formatting and accuracy and had us doing this in various formats.

Ironically enough, our work is checked by a bot before being sent to a a human for final review and there have been all kinds of issues because of it, especially with one of the newer types of tasks they had just introduced. We were told over and over not to worry about the quality scores we were being given because there was some kind of issue and they were 100% inaccurate.

I've technically worked there for a little over a month if you count the training, but there was about a week and a half between the training and being assigned to a project and for the last week or so almost nobody has been able to work at all because too many people were brought on between when I started and now, so there wasnt enough for everyone to do.

So fast forward to today. I've been without work to do for almost a whole week now, and I find out that a bunch of us, myself included, have been removed from the project for “poor quality” on the exact same tasks that they told us over and over not to worry about. And this isn't the first time that a group of people have been booted for this exact reason, and they assured us after each time (it happened at least twice between when I started and today) that they would look into it and make sure it didn't happen again.

I'm exhausted guys, and I just don't know what to do anymore. I'm out of savings and out of energy for this shit. I haven't been “fired” from the company as a whole, they said that they'd find another project fore to work on, but from what I've been told by other people who have worked here longer that getting reassigned can be as quick as a few hours or as long as a few months. When I found this place I thought things were finally going to turn around for me. I've been unemployed and living off of student loans and savings since 2021, but it's just not enough anymore.

At this point I don't know why I even try. Everything I've applied for that actually got back to me has told me that I'm “overqualified” but really anything else that I can think to apply to I'm not qualified for, or I can't do because of my health issues. And I doubt I could get any kind of unemployment because what I was doing for the last month was classified as an independent contractor, and I haven't been fired, they just don't have any work for me right now.
