worked for this company who is now owned by Mayville Engineering. Hired in as a CNC laser operator.
They wanted Monday – Friday 10 hour days
Most Saturdays would be 8 hour days
And quite a few Sundays theyd expect 8 hours as well. The burnout was real and the turnover was beyond insane.
People seeing the shop floor and leaving after a few hours type shit. Trash conditions perpetuated by the operations manager. Those Trash conditions included gaps in plastic coverings where radiation could leak out.
No masks/ respirators offered to the folks who are cutting aluminum with lasers.
Got strep throat and called out four days in a row, on top of missing 2 and 1/2 days earlier in the year. Which I know that’s not great. But the burnout was real and I couldn’t pretend to care after about 6 months of non stop work
Operations manager calls me to the office when I come back from the strep. Man says I need to write him a letter stating the commitments I’ll make to his company lol.
& as soon as he that’s out in the open, the only option I have is to give him a list of complete bullshit
Well they took my list of bullshit and typed it on this little official document. I put my week notice in the day the accepted that letter bc I can’t work for people who are cool with that level of a dumb shit.
Scott buddy you’re gonna bleed that bitch dry good luck
