Thought my supervisor was cool, but turns out there a bootlicker

Was talking to my supervisor today about how I hope that my generation (Gen Z) changes our industry so that we get paid when we work overtime or when we’re asked to work weekends. I told her it makes me uncomfortable seeing that people aren’t getting paid to do more work over the weekend. Her response was: “There’s value in doing the longer hours, some of my best memories are from moments I wasn’t being paid more to do work.” It didn’t sit right with me and it’s very weird that people in my industry are just so accepting of our company making money off the extra hours that we put in but we don’t see any of that. Disclaimer: not talking about working a bit after 6pm during the week or having to work a little later one or two nights, im talking about working 25-30 hours over the weekend and not being paid for it at all.

We are all salaried employees, i work in the marketing industry.
