Firstly, this is coming from a place of anger and is really just a rant.
I was told today that I will be made redundant next week (with very little severance pay – not enough to survive) and I was chosen due to performance issues.
The thing is, the team I work on is very hostile and there has been many issues. I was reassured many times that it is understood that my relative poor performance is due to the teams hostilities and it’s not my fault. I was assured by my manager, who is also the person responsible for selecting those to be made redundant.
I had a lot of trust in my manager and genuinely liked him. I felt supported and understood. Now, I feel betrayed. I feel stupid for trusting him
