Want me to work more? Pay me more.

I've been working for a great company for the last several years, right as they were going into a corporate merger. Morale has been low since the new company started to unceremoniously fire beloved HR people that were fighting so hard for us to keep the same culture that we always have. They insisted that what we had been doing worked great, and to go and change it would be detrimental to what used to be a great work environment. In other words, don't fix it if it's not broke. They flat out lied and said one of them left on their own, and was called out in a zoom meeting by a friend of one of the people they let go.

We had a town hall meeting recently where our concerns were addressed, and it was a joke. It was supposed to be 30 minutes of corporate talk and then an hour for q&a. That of course didn't happen, they talked for 90 minutes about how much more money they would make if they could increase certain metrics, and told us we would get a merit increase based on performances. Some folks have gone two years without raises.

Well today the new manager talked to my team about what we need in order to increase our metrics and specified “other than compensation” and there were crickets. Sorry, but if you want me to work more you're going to have to pay me more. The other suggestions were pretty much ignored (telling us to pay for the work equipment out of our pockets because we get a stipend while working at home to pay for Internet and what not) This is the beginning of the end, I'm so bummed. I'll stick it out but I'm expecting things only to get worse.
