Well that was a week…

Day one: walk in for job interview and I’m told I have the position without needing to interview. That seemed suspicious but I took the position anyway out of desperation. Day two: I show up for my first training shift and find out the GM’s wife works there and is getting the preopen hours every day meaning my shifts would only be 5-6 hours a day. This is already a low paying job. Day three: I find out that I’m technically not even supposed to be working there without a food handlers card (makes me wonder how many people are working there without one). Proper protective and sanitation gear required for the job (hats, aprons, cut proof gloves) are not being provided. Day four: The GM pulls a gun out of their desk after getting aggressive with someone and decides to keep it on them the rest of the day…

Day four: The GM pulls a gun out of their desk after getting aggressive with someone and decides to keep it on them the rest of the day in case they come back.
Day five: Interviews with two other companies.
Day six: I’m supposed to go in again but I decide to quit the job I’ve been working for the last week. It wasn’t an easy decision because I really need the money right now. Two hours later I had a second interview with one of the two companies I interviewed for the day prior. They want to hire me at a rate 50% higher then the job I just quit.
Day seven: I get calls from two other companies looking to hire me that I have to turn down because the pay is too low and tell them I’ll reapply if the situation changes.
