What should I be working towards?

I work as a cable technician, starting out I make around $20 an hour. Work isn't horrible, to be honest, it's the best job I've had out of all 12 or 13 jobs I've had over my life. It is physically demanding and I have fears of destroying my body and whatnot in this field as my family has a history of arthritis and chronic pain early on, I already experience this and I'm in my early 20s. In the long run, I want to work to live, but not kill myself doing it. I could rent in my area, but it seems like a waste while I'm living at home as I want to own a house. 20 an hour is okay but not nearly enough to live comfortably on my own, I'm working on finding someone to move out with. Does anyone else work in a similar field?…

Does anyone else work in a similar field? If so, what are some options I could look at (schooling or otherwise) to ensure I can survive for myself without destroying my body?
