I've been working for a company for ten years, and a couple of years ago, I felt it was time to leave. I started looking for something specific, and I landed a great job where my skills could be appreciated. Due to different reasons, I set my starting date in 5 months. When should I tell my boss and company I'm leaving? My relationship with both is good, and I want to go without conflict. If I tell them now, I can help them with the transition and maybe help them get my replacement, but also, I feel it would be a tense period where perhaps they will try to “juice” me before I leave. If I tell them later, there might be some resentment, and good relationships could end, which it’s something I don’t want to happen.
