Where do we draw the line between “multi-tasking” vs being overworked and underpaid?

Employers ask for employees who can multi task, but what they really mean is employees that they can burden with additional responsibilities without the additional pay. It's one thing to have a list of job duties, but at what point does that turn into being overworked and underpaid? Doing the work of several departments is not “multitasking” smh. The word multi-task makes me cringe when it in job postings now. Adding it to the red flag list along with words and phrases such as “ability to perform under pressure,” “self starter,” “go getter.” All of these buzz words and phrases are just ways of the employer saying they will be getting maximum effort from you while paying you the least they can get away with. Then you crash and burn, and your job is posted again. That's my take on it, at least. Would love to hear yours.
