Doesn't matter if it is for a work trip or god forbid a vacation. Because our Boss' policy for coverage is to have a singular person back you up and that creates the following:
Immense guilt that that person has the workload of 2 while you are gone.
Panic the week before to try and get everything wrapped up nicely and fill that person in.
Regret when you come back when you have 400 emails and it takes at least 1-2 weeks to catch up.
Also the boss doesn't manage who is out and repeatedly breaks the rule that more than half the people can't be gone at the same time by dragging a salesperson out with him on weeks 3 people are already out on.
Our team is 6. 5.5 if you include boss.
We don't have a general email work could go to and be assigned evenly from. He also won't back anyone up or even assign the work out.
