Worth pursuing?

Evening folks,

Former employee of a home builder here in UT & wanted to pose a question to the group.

The backstory is my wife got pregnant last year in July. During her first trimester she developed perinatal depression and needed my help with our other kids & doing things around the house.

I was never absent at work and felt like performance had only slightly slipped, but not to the point to justify being laid off.

October rolls around and on the 4th our construction and project managers sat me down to say I’m being let go due to uncertainty in the market and cut backs the company was making.

Not two weeks laters another co-worker who’s wife was expecting was also “cherry picked” to be laid off.

My question is does title 7 or ADA provide a path forward to pursue this legally? Or am I grasping at straws.

Also, are there any laws at the state (UT) level that give me some footing here?

Thanks for the advice.
