I'm an adult working in the food service industry.
The culture we have of showing up to work while sick is unacceptable. I slept for 2 hours tonight + stomach bug.
How can anyone expect me to provide good service in this state?
Why is it so impossible to consider that accidents happen, illnesses happen, life happens, etc.
This is nationwide.
I feel like it's extremely unethical.
Bonus: any job where you have to ask to use the bathroom / aren't allowed to have water / legally required to have a break and that isn't fulfilled (restaurant industry!)
