It will be at Garland Park in East Liberty at 2 pm. We march to honor the workers of the world and specifically working women. We highlight that women’s oppression is held within the oppression of the working class under private property. We support the women in communities that have been hurt by the reactionary attacks against the right to abortion and speak out against the politicians who implemented laws that restrict this right for working and poor women, who are most often Black and Brown women. We rally around how the same system that perpetuates attacks against the right to abortion is the same system that perpetuates police brutality and refuses to hold police accountable, as well as upholds white supremacy on the same note. The fight for women’s emancipation is the fight…
Month: March 2022
Okay hear me out Poor planning and execution of workload by the company does not constitute a sense of urgency needed from the employee They knew the deadlines of the orders and shipments when they signed the contracts so if they can't meet those promises they should be the ones renegotiating the contracts not forcing their workers to work 50 and 60 hour weeks to make up for their negligence I understand depending on the company there's more that goes into it than that but I'm speaking more as a generality
I’m struggling at work
Hi, This is really last result, but I believe I am being antagonized at work. I am looking for a new job, however I have not received a request for interviews as of yet or any call backs. But I need some guidance on what to do in the meantime as we do not have HR or an employee hand book. I am not financially able to quit unless I am to be fired in order to collect unemployment. I work in a high stress job itself. But the added stress is what is bothering me. I am wrongfully accused about things I do not do and have documentation as we use time stamps and signatures. However with documentation I am still accused. I am asked to correct others mistakes, again all documented in the computer. I am yelled at, belittled by the manager and others. I can shake off…
Finally did it
So I finished up at my previous job of 26 years a few days ago. This job was over an hour’s drive each way on a good day. I stayed as long as I did because I mostly enjoyed the work and I liked most of the people I worked with. My wife has been on my back for years to find something closer to home. Early January I had an accident in a (work-supplied) vehicle while driving home. I wasn’t injured but was very shaken. So the next time my wife pointed out a job online she thought I could do, I applied for it, got an interview and got the job. I told one of the two owners I was leaving. He seemed a bit surprised but didn’t say much. I purposely didn’t mention my leaving to anyone else, because I (foolishly) thought they would make an announcement…
Is it even worth going back?
Little backstory, I work for a company that produces automotive window's for car's. When I started 2 years ago when I originally started, they made a big deal about following the SOP (Standard Operating Procedures). They went as far as to say that if we even used the same kim wipe on 2 window's that could be grounds for termination for not following SOP's and that they already have terminated people for it. So, alright they are strict about following the rules. Fast forward to Monday, a machine reached it's cycle limit of 80 part's and required cleaning. Only problem… no cleaner. So I asked HR if it was allowed to break the SOP and they said only if a PT says it's okay.. This threw me off because they made a big deal about we do the things we say, and say the things we do and yet here…

Back at the office
I posted earlier this week but finished the first 3 days we were required to be back at the office this week. I am exhausted. It was a waste of my time. I literally went on walks with colleagues to kill time…. It was awful. My job doesn’t require me to be in very many meetings. I also heard from someone who also heard that if this new hybrid schedule doesn’t go as planned they are getting rid of it and we will be back at the office. Don’t know if it’s true but I can’t bear the thought I hope they really think about the well-being of their employees before they lose more.

Fired but not
I have had poor attendance within reason this year, COVID, flu, car crash and a family emergency. It’s been a rough year, and I won’t deny my attendance has been piss poor. I just got an email bumping my from my position into a lower position. They are offering to keep my pay and hours but the position I’m being bumped into is not what I was hired for or wanted. This “bump” came about a week after I went to HR over a co worker and their awful attitude towards me and the clients. Creating an unsafe environment. They said they just don’t have the staff to let go of her at this time, but a week later are removing me. I’m confused. I’m wondering what my rights are? Nothing since I’ve had poor attendance?
