TW: (mention of miscarige) I'm currently at work for a late shift, im also going through my 2nd miscarige and am required to stay for my shift as 'there is no one to cover' The only reason im staying is cause the USA helthcare is dog shit. And now I owe 6k in hospital bills

Went from barely above minimum wage to now minimum wage because of wage increases, I am frustrated and annoyed that they did not keep it above minimum while keeping us under staff so if anyone now takes holidays, someone has to come in that day on their day off meaning me or another one every time someone has to book in a friday, because “should be doing a favour for other people as you might need it”. But whenever I booked any of my holidays nobody elses days off needed changing, So now I have had at least 2 of my days forced changed if not maybe 4 if the other person decides to say no to coming in for the other 2 and the 3rd person 'has to have them days because of his wife' wtf how is this fair????? I started working local family owned petstore at the end of January and lasted 5 weeks. Thought I would enjoy this as I have a huge passion for animals and I thought this job would help get me on a further career path with animals , turns out I was dead wrong on my first they trained me how to work the register and deal with customers which I had no problem with as it was my first retail job the second day I went in I was told I was going to be brought to there 2nd Store/warehouse to do further training again i had no problem with this and was told it was necessary once again I was dead wrong the minute I arrived at the 2nd Store/warehouse they brought me outback and had me start bagging and stacking and loading there own brand dogfood onto trucks by…

I work at a retail store where hours have been cut. This manager (I’ll call her “A”) has a history of general rudeness/nastiness. The other day, one of the shift leads told me that while everyone’s hours are being cut, A has been clocking 10 hours of overtime every week. Another employee told me that she noticed that A never punches in on the computer, only writes down her times. The employee said that she notices A coming in 15 minutes late, but writing her punches as if she’s on time. Schedules have also been changed without notice to employees. It’s really frustrating because I can’t even afford to feed myself and pay my bills because of my hours being cut, it’s almost like A is stealing hours from everyone else. What are my options here? I’ve considered calling the corporate ethics line, but I also don’t trust the company…
