For context: I work at a local restroom as a delivery driver and I make $8/hour + tips(online and hand) +$1 delivery fee. I don't think I make a lot at all, but I didn't know it was worse for insert pizza chain. The other night I ordered a pizza that wasn't too expensive, but the delivery fee was $4.50, and being that I've heard many other delivery drivers get the delivery fee including me, l didn't tip initially. I thought that a delivery fee was for the delivery driver to get. I was unaware that this isn't the case when the driver texted me and said my receipt wasn't complete and I forgot to leave a tip (a bit weird, but I let it slide). I’m a junior in college graduating next year (hopefully) with a poli sci degree. I want to work in politics (not in the sell your soul to oil companies way but in the protest for the environment, advocate for marginalized groups way) and damn near every job I’ve looked at requires some sort of prior experience, seeing as I’ll be coming out of college to apply for these jobs, I decided to pick up an internship to gain some experience. This shit is a fucking scam. I won’t say the job title but there are very few of us working and if you were to look up the shit we do it’s easily a 40K-50k job that we are doing for free. Ive had 3 experiences 2 of which ive quit do to work place abuse and one fired for defending myself against a customer assault. I was accused on all occasions by my family that i made excuses so i could get unemployment and coast through life. Anyone else have bad luck with crap employment like this affecting social life?

I mean, dude, you're not even working for yourself, you're just a pawn in a bigger corporation, you're not even anyone important, why would you fucking care that I'm five minutes late? I'm sick of those people. Their work their ass off in the low paying job thinking they're someone important. I have been seriously trying to leave my job for almost 2 months now. I’ve gotten up to the final rounds of interviews with 2 companies I really liked now just to get rejected. It truly sucks to feel like the interview process has gone well and feel like you’ve gotten along with everyone you’ve had to meet with, just to get an email starting with “Thank you for your application, unfortunately…” Not to mention if they ask you to waste your time doing a freaking project or assessment. I admit I am being more selective with my job search but I just don’t want to end up with another job I hate! How much longer can I do this?! It’s honestly soul crushing.

I'm nearing the point of grabbing a big ass board painted in red letters and a megaphone and a suitcase full of cash and using an off day to go to establishment after establishment and demand that the workers immediately leave their job, right effing now, walk out and create some sort of mega picket line.
