Just had a little brainwave here and wanted to know if anyone has ever considered this. But could a company that say advertises a job posting at a given pay rate or jobs requirements but then changes it at the last minute be liable under false advertising law? Has anyone here legalbros or otherwise ever considered this to be an option?

I currently work for a large company in Texas that is shit hourly + commission. They require that we work a minimum of 4 hours on Saturday, even though we only get paid Mon-Fri. Is it legal to terminate me if I refuse to work for free Saturday?
Working Class Walkout and Rent Strike.
Are you tired of your boss/supervisor/union rep/ceo/president making more than you, to do less work, while you struggle? Help me, an auto-factory worker, plan and execute a mass, nationwide working class walkout and rent strike. Let these managers work your line. Let these ceo's lose millions. Let the renters pay their own mortgage. As the working class, we produce all wealth, it's time we show them exactly what we are capable of. If all anti-work followers upvote, or screenshot and share, add comments and share info to truly organize, there is a chance we could change history for the better. Please, for the sake of our children and our children's children, help me make our world a better place and rid our society of the blatant theft happening in our workplaces and homes every single day. Help me make our lives more fulfilling. They need us more than we need…
I interviewed for a new job. I was told the hours would be 7am-6pm mon-fri I countered with 7am-4:30pm mon-fri with a 1hr lunch (salaried position) I also told him I have a vacation coming up in July that was 10 days long. Told him that I need off those days. I asked, “is that going to be a problem?” While interviewing. He said that’s no problem. I started last week, hopefully everything works well.
One person on my team has no spine whatsoever. I'll refer to him as SJ, for spineless Jake. They're consistently bending over backwards for this company without demanding more for themselves and whining about it constantly about how they feel undervalued. He does more work than anyone else on the team already by a decent margin yet makes middle of the department income. It would make sense if they were new to the work force but they're 30+ years old. They've been at this company for like 8 years without a promotion. Then our team lead put in their two week notice. Me and SJ are the only people qualified, but I'm also leaving to another department. SJ messages me and tells me they're giving him the lead roles responsibilities. He's going on and on about how much extra work this is going to be. Detailing meetings schedules, workloads, etc…
First off I would like to say I have one of the better non physical labor jobs in my area. I work for the Department of Health and Human Resources as an Adult Protective Service investigator. I currently live in a state that is extremely republican and very poor. However, the cost of living is higher here than some other places with higher income due to the vastness of the oil and gas industry here. You can’t find an apartment under $1000. Even though I work one of the better jobs, I still spell with Doordash and Uber Eats because I don’t make enough to make ends meet. Then you see all of the people talking about “if you can’t afford to live somewhere, then move.” Well, see, I would. If I could afford, you know, security deposit and a couple months rent until I get settled and a job…
I don't know what the situation is outside of the UK but it'd be interesting to know if others are having the same issue. I applied for a job, passed the interviews & accepted their offer of employment. Got a start date. Great. Oh wait, now I have to go through the screening process. They want to know what I've been doing for the past 5 years. They also want proof for any employment gaps. Ok, sent them my MA certificate, my P45 & a couple of bank statements showing I'm in receipt of benefits. They want all of my bank statements from August 2020 (when I started claiming) up until now. That's 20 statements to download & email. It's a third party company who's doing this screening. No names on the emails, the telephone number is just a general helpline who can't tell me what the team working on…
