I thought anything over 40 hrs is overtime. I work 44 hrs per week with paid lunch. Unless I leave the desk or building, then its an half hour unpaid. But anyway, here is my two images to maybe explain to me I'm not being paid correctly or I am and I'm a dumb dumb. Paystub Timecard If I am being chimped out my 8 hrs extra, please let me know so I can do malicious compliance I feel I should have got 25.50 for the 8 hrs. Cus last I checked, overtime is anything above 40 hours and I work 44 hrs a week.
I have been looking for other positions in my small town, and recently received a pretty good offer elsewhere. I told my boss about it, and they offered me a promotion. I was torn, I asked for a few days to think it over. Ultimately I made the decision to stay, because the promotion was too good to turn down. The day of the deadline, after I signed my new contract we had a company announcement. They layed off another site, almost 50 people, a site with people who have similar qualifications to me. They didnt tell me they could have easily filled my position after I left. Instead they forced me to make a decision before the announcement, and take a job that could have been reserved for someone being let go elsewhere. I feel terrible. It was a good move for my career, just not for my conscience.…
Some of us want per diem/part time work. We don’t all want full time. Give people the shifts/positions they desire. Not everyone wants to work dayshift. Not everyone wants to work night shift. Introduce the Baylor weekend program. Hospitals may not have such a high turn over rate! Just saying this because I just an interview with some silly recruiter that tried to force me into a full time night position. The recruiter stated out of her mouth “I see you’ve applied for many per diem and part time positions but let’s discuss this full time night position”. Especially after I told her I can’t physically stay awake for a full time night position lol I can do part time but I need time to recover from nights. (I also have a small child so sleeping immediately after work isn’t always a guarantee)
3 months and still no one has an answer
I’m not sure if this is the right place for this but I’m curious if anyone has experienced this in their work. So I work for a semi small company. It’s an office job. We found out in January we’d be moving for my boyfriend’s job to a different state near July. I brought it up to my work beginning of February to see if they’d let me work remotely in the new state. It’s been over 3 months and they still don’t have an answer I just need getting them run around. I know part of it is logistics and costs to see if it’s worth it for them but I have over 450 clients that I deal with directly. They should really have this figured out soon as other associates will have to take on my clients. At this point I don’t even wanna stay on. I’ve been…
Hey everybody! Long story short I got into an argument with a coworker that got heated enough where he wanted to fight me. I never said anything because I didn’t think he was. However, today I got pulled in to talk to an upper management to talk about the situation and the other guy claimed I tried fighting him (he lied) and that I go slow at work on purpose because I don’t enjoy the company. Now they want me to write a written statement and email it to them but can this written statement be used against me and possibly write me up? Btw he’s slightly a position above me and he’s more friendly with the management then I am so they’re going to be more bias of this situation favoring him. Any advice what I should say in the email will be great as well!
Hi. Ok so would that help? I saw a video where an applicant submitted 2 job applications for the same role at the same company. One application had her full and legal name. That was rejected because it sounded foreign. But her second application had her nickname. She was later contacted by a recruiter because her nickname sounded less foreign and more American? While she may be lying, I think this is true.https://www.nber.org/digest/sep09/why-do-skilled-immigrants-struggle-labor-market But I am scared that HR may fire me because my resume and legal name don't match.
Recently our manager told is that because of a few people taking liberties and being on their phone a lot on shift that they are going to start confiscating phones before the shifts start and if we refuse we'd be sent home without pay. Is this something they can legally do? I'm rarely ever on mine on shift unless it's exceptionally quiet but I like to have it on me in case of someone needing to urgently get a hold of me
