Hi guys, I joined the sub recently after noticing some sketchy things about my work, that I simply overlooked due to the great respect I had for my boss. Well, I have been with my job for over 3 years now and I have not once been called to a formal review meeting, which they have done with all other coworkers. I have consistently asked their feedback about my work and I have always been told it's all ok and to continue to work. So I called an official meeting with them. Where to start: firstly, my boss met with me at a donut shop and proceeded to eat while we were having the formal meeting. They said that I was not technically eligible for a raise, because for a couple of months I had not met my monthly quota (when there was no quota to meet due to lack…
Month: July 2022
Sometimes it is cool to just exist.
damn…one of those days.
I work at retail.. and I have a chronic disease.. it comes and goes and sometimes I feel so unwell at work I just feel like walking out. If I could rather not work today. Feel crap…
I keep on getting shafted.
So I work at a McDonald's. And I've been there 3 months. And I consistently work 3pm to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. When I ask for more or why they won't give me more hours, the say “it's because we aren't that busy”. And when another fellow teen joined. (I'm 16, she's 15) she works same 2 days, 6 hours more. (10 hours a week, I'm 4 hrs a week). So I don't buy that. (Also according to them, the minimum I can work per day is 2 hours.) One of the reasons I stay for the moment is because it's super close to a bus station, and the school bus goes to that station. But I am kinda lost as to what I should do. Can anyone help me?
Was I in the wrong?
So I already have a full time job Monday-Friday, but was wanting to pick up a side job around 15-20 hours a week., I ended up finding one but after the 1st week they started working me over 30 hours a week, it made it hard manage when I'm already working 40 hours at my other job. I gave them the benefit of the doubt after the 1st time since I was new but then the new schedule came out and I was still working over 30 hours so I walked out and said I'll come back once my schedules fixed.
Unfair wages at Crumbl Cookie
The Crumbl near me just opened and the manager told me that he could raise me to $13 even tho the starting pay was $12.50. I thought it was a really great deal but then after about a month of all of us new employees working here, it came out that I only make $13. My coworkers seemed surprised as they said they were making $14-15.50. I was shocked because some of these coworkers were younger than me, as young as 16 and have no job experience. Whereas I'm making $13, I'm 20 and have worked a year at portillos and 5 months at Chipotle. They said that when they got hired the manager asked them how much they wanted to get paid. However, he didn't ask me that. When I tried talking to one of our managers about it, she said that she didn't know who got paid that…
