At this rate he’s gonna need it
Papa Johns: my experience.
I was watching an emkay video and I realized that there was a papa John's box. I immediately knew I had to share. Papa John's will add up all of the credit card tips and deduct that from the employees' check. So instead of being paid what they earned all day plus tips, they earn roughly half of that plus whatever tips. If you really want papa John's, or if papa John's is the only pizza place near you that will deliver, tip the driver in cash. Because they can't take that out of the employees' checks.

Coping with the system
Hey r/antiwork, How do you cope with the state of the current system and society in general? As we (hopefully) get closer to capitalism burning itself out, it feels like we are commodifiying more and more of our existence, and living more and more like an episode of Black Mirror. On top of that, work itself is absolutely alienating, and I say this as someone who is relatively privileged. My values clash too much with this need to constantly produce and sell more.
My 8 week paternity leave is coming to an end and I have an offer for another job coming either this week or next. To be fair, I’ve been interviewing since before my leave began but ran into some troubles with the process due to a hiring freeze. The company I work for really sucks in terms of treatment of employees and even fought me on how I take paternity leave. They tried to tell me that I had to split my leave up based on business needs but never referenced anything in their policy about it. On many emails and communications, I asked for them to send me something or point to where it said this in any policy print and they came back with nothing besides “we treat all leave like PTO”. I knew this was a lie because our leave requires a form to be filled out,…

First Office Job
Finished University this summer and have begun my first full time job. It's a basic low wage admin office cubicle job. Since starting in October, I've made some observations but am unsure if this is the norm for office work/work in general nowadays: I work 3 days in the Office and 2 days remotely, but the days I'm in the Office it's a ghostown. A whole floor of empty desks apart from a few people here and there. Once a month the Managers and more co-workers from my team come in to the office. On these days there seems to be some strange behaviour, such as drinking in the office (storage cabinets usually have bottles of vodka or rum) or leaving work at 1pm to go to a bar. -the managers insist on having daily zoom (virtual) meetings with the team, but they never actually relate to the work any…
