I am 16F, almost 17, and I have applied to almost every business in town. I've never gotten a call back or any response other than “sorry, we won't hire you”. One time I submitted an application for Dollar General and as soon as I hit “submit”, I got an email saying they wouldn't hire me. Even McDonald's won't hire me as a cashier, and McDonald's hires everyone! It's not that I don't have a resumé or anything, I submit resumés and cover letters, I have references related to my experience, but I've never gotten a call back. I'm not sure what to do at this point. My mom has been super frustrated over me not having a job, but I've been applying to jobs and none of them have shown interest in my application. She half-jokingly said she would support me if I sold feet pics online, so I'm…
Month: February 2023
This is the second time I've had an interview scheduled where the people interviewing me haven't even showed up at all. Both were for reputable companies and 1 of them, I have already been employed with for about a year and a half. It's starting to get old. It's very disappointing.
I work in an office of 14 employees and I’m the only one who did not get sick. Because we were down so many people, he opted to come in 2 days after testing positive and inviting three others to do the same. The first day, I called out, declining to work in that environment. The second day, I had to come back. I was lucky enough to remain healthy, but I just have lost all respect for my employer and several coworkers after this. Currently planning my exit.
My son, his GF and my nephew
My 25yo son was recruited by a hiring specialist to work in a furniture store. He was made to drive two hours for a drug screening even though the city has many local places that do this. Then he was made to do a mountain of intake documents and finally training. He was paid $100 and told he didn't have a job. He was promised a $20 per hour job and was left upset and jobless. His GF, also 25, has worked at a southern owned grocery store for three years. She was hired as part time but allowed to work up to 40 hours without benefits. Because she's listed as part time any vacation time she takes is unpaid. She ask for a week off, she was given seven days off but scheduled to work a four hour shift in the middle. She asked her manager to fix it…

Looking for a new job on Indeed be like
It's written into my contract that although I am not legally obligated to, as a courtesy I would give two weeks' notice before leaving my job. I got laid off yesterday, and my medical coverage ended today. Thankfully, I had some foresight and purchased supplemental insurance before open enrollment ended a few months ago. I have a chronic condition, and can't do without insurance. I have been wanting to leave my job for some time, but always buffered every interview, and every new job outreach with the courtesy of 2 weeks because my start-up would be fucked without my work. Turns out–they're fine and I lose my salary and insurance the very next day
So I was recently diagnosed with Chronic Respiratory Failure with Hypoxia due to a severe case of pneumonia brought on by COVID, Fibromyalgia and have to use supplemental oxygen as well as am in pain all the time and constantly fatigued. I had to start a GoFundMe because my family is struggling financially to take care of me and so far I have hardly made any money. I was messaged by someone saying that, “I have fibromyalgia and I can work. So can you”. I said, “Do you have to use oxygen as well? Because clearly my GoFundMe states I have chronic respiratory failure with hypoxia and it's so bad I almost died a month ago when my lungs decided to just fail on me and I ended up almost dead because my lung were full of fluid. But Ok. To make matters even worse, my own mother makes comments…
