Month: April 2023
I see posts with people giving their whole life story to their manager and in the end, they don’t care and it gives them too much info and, perhaps, leverage over you. In Germany you just say “Hi (name), I will be out sick today. I will provide a doctor’s note when I receive it. Thank you” That’s it. And the fact that a manager texts you on your personal number? That’s fucked. When you work 09:00am – 5:00pm that’s the only time you should be working or answering emails or texts.
Hate Takeovers
So my Employment company (Midwest area) was recently bought out by some yuppies from New York. Prior to the buyout we'd been promised wage increases, better staffing, better insurance, even better Vacation? Sounded too good to be true and I told my damn coworkers to not even hold their breath. I can't say as I hate being right but I hate what this place has become. I have no problem telling yall it's a nursing facility and that I'm just a CNA. Fuck me running though. We get paid the same amount to Flip Grandma that these mfs are getting down the road to flip burgers. And they didn't even need to get a license to do it. This company has had us for 5 goddamn months (Since December so actually we are coming up on 6) and I've got 12 hours of PTO.. 12.. like a single day.. (we…
I’d like your opinion
I work with a small start up that's ramping to hire quite a few. I've been doing a lot of research about unlimited time off (which is what the CEO initially said). I'm not sure that's reasonable because I may want to just take October-February off .. anyhow, I'd like to make sure we have a workplace that prizes family and so does the C Suite. What types of bereavement leave have you seen? I'm wanting to provide leave for both parents after the loss of a pregnancy/baby. I lost my second child and the bereavement for my spouse was rough to say the least. What great examples have you seen? Tia
I work in a Facilities job, (also known as a bullshit job according to urban dictionary) I am required to go into work (for the first time of my entire working life) on a Sunday to do audits on work desks. (Standard Disclaimer… I am Autistic, I don't mind the extra work, it makes me look better to my manager, and I was not doing anything on this Sunday anyway… I can file this one task as a pure rarity and hope it doesn't happen that often, and put it under the heading “it is an inconvenience, but I am happy to do it”) This is where the question heading of this subject comes in. When my manager asked me to do this, he said. “I can't pay you more money, or pay you on/for the Sunday, but how does 2 days off sound” I said sure, I am fine…
I wouldn’t call $15/hr above average pay
Do you know any jobs I can do from home?
Context – I am an 18 year old who is about to graduate from High School and I want more free time to do the things I want. I thought a job from home would be that gate to my wants.
Over plastic bags?
My boss at the gas station I work at got all pissed and redfaced when I gave a homeless guy two plastic bags to put his shoes in. She said “we don't support him” He comes in often to use our restroom or to microwave something. He's pleasant and is never disruptive. If it were anyone else she probably wouldn't have a problem. Leaving this place anyway
