I am so annoyed y'all. I live in the suburb of a major city. My employer is based out of the city and for me to drive there it takes 1 hour and 15 minutes one way, give or take. Last year they scheduled a “mandatory in peraon lunch so that we can all get to know each other”. I declined and said I lived too far and my boyfriend uses the car for work. Turns out, a lot of people said they couldn't go so they said they would reschedule for another date. Well in February, they scheduled a new date. I advised I would be booking this date off as I had plans. Well turns out once again, nobody else could go so they scheduled a NEW date. How the hell do I get out of this again? All our meetings are remote and there is no reason…

This is not normal….. right?
I received this message and thought I was crazy. Basically the whole message is grammatically incorrect. I did not respond as this just seems off. What do you think?
Using a throwaway account because I have colleagues who know my main account. I work in customer service in something related to tourism, I can be difficult because of the clients but you get used to it however, lately, management decided to implement some changes that just make our job more difficult. First, they decided to implement a new software, the previous one had some bugs but this one has way more, it constantly disconnects you, even in the middle of a call, sometimes it doesn't registers the processes or notes you made on the system, and lacks a feature that allowed you to give credits to the clients (sometimes we gave like 20 dollars or something like that as compensation just to make the clients happy) and also they decided to implement this on peak season, so now you have guests constantly calling because the last agent “hanged up…
My future former company is in the process of having a quality certification. And to due that, they have to be audited. I quit 2 months ago (It's 3 months notice in France for managers), but despite that they couldn't find anyone to replace me. They decided to give the trainee my job temporarly, but they feared he wouldn't be able to do the audit. That audit will in June, a week after my new job begins. And my current director is trying to pressure me into coming back for that day. “You can take un unpaid day off, I'll pay you the day ! I'll even pay the plane ticket !” (It's 1500km – 930 miles – away from my new job). But I don't want to do that, I keep telling him I'm not going to do it because it will be he beginning of my new job,…
No, I can’t come in, I told you…
Ugh, just a vent. Please delete if not allowed. I work in healthcare. Just got a call from my work asking again if I can come in on a Friday. I’ve told them since I was hired over a year ago on Fridays and Sundays I don’t mind coming in but I have prior engagements I can’t miss, otherwise known as court ordered child weekend visitation… it’s an hour one way just to drop our son off and pick him up. They keep pulling this and again wanted me to come in outside the times I offered and tried to beg, bribe and even guilt me. Um, NO! I have a life outside of work and my child is my priority (I also hate the thought of going to court if I don’t follow the order)… I know it seems stupid but grrrrr. Half the time I feel like the…
I see a lot of posts here asking why you're being asked to stop WFH and come back to the office. Regardless of how productive you and your peers have been, your managers are still attempting to require it. No one seems to make sense of all of this and I'd like to offer some insight. Commercial real estate (and more precisely commercial mortgage backed securities) are the reason you're being told to come back. Pre-pandemic, you were commuting to, typically, larger metro areas or within your metro area to work which would mean what? Maybe you stopped for coffee, or stopped at the store within that area for groceries before going home, as well as eating out and dining maybe after work with co workers. Then the pandemic hits and all of that comes to a grinding halt. Small businesses and even larger chain corporations are now moving to…
What do you think.
I went to work. Worked 2 hours. And I was told to go do the worst job because I’m trained in it. It hurts. It is brain rot. And you can be trained to do everything here. It doesn’t affect your pay. You aren’t allowed to choose. You are to work where needed if you have training your more “flexable” we get PTO, and I used 8 hours and now I’m at 2 hours of it because it accumulates so slow and I work 10 hours a day. Why did I use PTO?! Because I’m not working in something I don’t feel comfortable with, that hurts, that pisses me off. I was perfectly fine before you told me to go do something a stronger character could go do. Why pick a skinny guy over the ones who are muscular and taller?? I’m 5’4 and skinny. Ffs I tell my manager…
Burnt out at dead-end job
So I work at a dispatch center for a Limo Company based in Cali and this company has been around for awhile . I've been here almost 6 months and I haven't learned a single thing on how to dispatch any vehicles or drivers. It's driving me insane just being a “Wing”. I sit behind a desk all day doing nothing for hours at a time. I know for others that might be dream but I'm only getting paid 16$/h while we've had other “dispatchers” come in with supposed experience getting paid an extra 2$ an hour. There's fast food places earning 50c more than this place and it's insulting seeing these dispatchers earn 18$/h. Since I've started 3/4 new dispatchers have been terminated for doing their jobs poorly and being incompetent. I've also created a small but brief “entry manual/guide” for these dispatchers because when I came in there…
