This brand is incredibly slimy and does not actually believe in the values that they promote. I work nights for a fairly known mall store and have experienced an abundance of unethical practices. I’m also expected to accomplish things way beyond my pay grade (I make several cents above minimum wage and no commission or sales incentives.)
The last straw for me was my colleague’s focus on milking as much money as possible out of a woman who was visibly sobbing because she was grieving. Upselling and making sales that you receive no additional compensation for should not be what you’re worried about when a customer is clearly distraught and wants to be left alone.
The hours are far and few and ridiculous. I have a day job that I really enjoy so far. I don’t really care about burning any bridges because I’ll probably never give that store another dime after my experiences there. I will be looking into picking up extra shifts at my day job if needed, but the hours I was receiving at this job would only buy me a tank of gas every payday.
It feels wrong to not provide notice, but I couldn’t care less anymore.
