Spot the lie.
My feelings exactly
2 problems with this sub
1) idk why, but for some reason, I see a bunch of posts from people who work outside of America saying things like “I make (good) salary, work from home, good benefits, etc and speak on those for a good 3 paragraphs just to add in at the end “is it really that bad in America?”. YES, if you haven’t noticed from the other thousands of posts here, it IS that bad here in America. Why do people come here to brag, sorry not all of us were born in your countries but sheesh, we get it, your work is not as sufferable, are you here to help or just showing off? 2) the hard truth, this sub is becoming almost a joke in the fact that time after time again we here of these stories that make us want change but us Americans do NOTHING about it. Where are…

i'm an engineer. electronics to be specifific. and over the past 10 years i have seen the absolute destruction of the middle class
Schoolwork is school work not homework.
Back when I was a teenager (1998-2007), I would never do my homework. I would constantly tell the teachers that schoolwork gets done at school, not home. I had a homeroom teacher that caved in for grade 7-8 and would stay after class for 30 minutes for me to finish it, before going home. I remember a project I did in grade 9 where they wanted us to write an essay on a comparison object. Something that is similar to another object and compare the two in an essay. I wrote mine on how schools are similar to prisons. Bars are on the windows, doors are always locked, police bring you back if you leave, violence, teachers tell you where you have to be at what times, and no freedom. Needless to say, they were not a fan of it. I come back to that now with the comparison to…
Why I hate time out of the office
Doesn't matter if it is for a work trip or god forbid a vacation. Because our Boss' policy for coverage is to have a singular person back you up and that creates the following: Immense guilt that that person has the workload of 2 while you are gone. Panic the week before to try and get everything wrapped up nicely and fill that person in. Regret when you come back when you have 400 emails and it takes at least 1-2 weeks to catch up. Also the boss doesn't manage who is out and repeatedly breaks the rule that more than half the people can't be gone at the same time by dragging a salesperson out with him on weeks 3 people are already out on. Our team is 6. 5.5 if you include boss. We don't have a general email work could go to and be assigned evenly from.…
GOT FIRED FOR TRYING TO HELP
Background info, I worked at a well-known childcare learning center. I’m going to school for early education and left my toxic job in retail pharmacy for a job that reflects my major for experience. The job started out fine, I had consistent hours and felt heard. The pay was absolute shit but I started at the lowest position, a floater. Throughout the semester, they were flexible and understanding especially since it was a 45 min commute to work after class. In late May, I found out I was pregnant. Complete surprise but I have a solid, healthy relationship and we’re further ahead when it comes to finances than most of our peers. Mainly due to my fiancé working in a trade and working his ass off to be where he is. We’re very excited no matter how unexpected this might be. I told my job (assistant director) right away because…
