How to quit my job this morning!
This post is a little time sensitive but I decided I’m quitting my job this morning. Had the job for about 3 months. I have some personal effects there but I really don’t want to go back. What should I do and how should I quit? Just not show up? Email???? Help!
The least they could do
If an employer/corporation doesn't want to pay employees enough to pay bills and eat the least they could do is give us a set 4 day work week so we can schedule for our second jobs.
Double Standards Ahoy!
I recently posted about how my company was making me redundant. I tried to drag my heels and get them to keep me employed as long as possible so I could find another job in the meantime. One of the suggestions i posed was that instead o fpigeonholing me in some shitty department, why not let me do my magic across all departments and really help the clients out? It took them less than 24 hours to come up “As a search first agency we rely on PPC and SEO..” blah blah fucking blah. Essentially the said they don't need me. That was at 4pm, yesterday. I wake up to an email from one of the big wigs asking me to do my magic, for a client, in another department. It's literally the opposite of what they said no more than 30 minutes of work related time ago. And bizarrely…
Currently my whole state is covered in smog from the wildfires in Canada. I work in a warehouse and yesterday the place was filling with smoke from outside. Of course since it’s a warehouse we have all the dock doors open and are constantly unloading/loading trucks and w in new trailers. It took a few hours but by the end of the day this huge warehouse was smokey. Instead of letting us leave, “safety” has been going around and giving people Covid masks to work in and they closed the “unused” dock doors as a solution. Apparently employees were complaint to the Gm who didn’t see an issue. I’m in a panic because I have pretty bad asthma. Even going outside has been dangerous/scary. I swear if I walk into work today and the place is smokey/hazy I’m gonna turn and leave. It just can’t be safe working in a…
My boss & my manager said i should let it go as they’d already warned him & he’d stopped now. But I still feel unsafe living in the same house with him (we live with some other staffs). Also, when i see his face, it reminds me of the shitty things he said to me. My boss said i should be professional, not letting personal things affect the work. My boss seems not to understand as she said that the harasser wanna flirt with me but coming too strong. BUT ACTUALLY, IT’S NOT ANYTHING CLOSE TO FLIRTING, IT’S SEXUAL HARASSMENT. Now, he’s changed his behaviour at work, such as being more unhelpful to get me working harder. My manager can see this too. She’s told my boss to fire him (for him being lazier, not sexually harassing me), but my boss feels pity for him as he’s likely not to…
Belligerent coworker
I work the overnight shift with someone and and they literally bring in a blanket and pillows, recline the futon and will sleep sometimes most of the shift. They watch TV in the common area, where we are the whole night. The issue happens when I sit down after everything is done and nod off, they will crank the volume on the TV, I'm assuming to try and wake me up. We're not supposed to sleep, but there's an understanding amongst all the staff that some sleep is ok. I've asked them to turn the volume down but they say it's loud because I was snoring. Think it's kinda BS that they can sleep but are forcing me to stay up. Thoughts?
resource problem happened since last year and now I’m being blamed for leaving and refused to approve to shorten my notice period
