I've been working for this small company for almost 1.5 years. It's my very first full-time job after graduation, so back then I was really unaware of what's normal and what's not. It's a small company; 3 people in my department (including me), 2 people in the other department, the boss's wife is the one taking care of the HR matters while his daughter is the admin and handling petty cash, so altogether 8 people in the office. I guess my first red flag for this company was when last year, one of the engineers from the other department asked for a raise, then the boss called for a meeting. During the meeting, he was humiliating the engineer in front of all of us and telling him how he doesn't deserve a raise, even brought up the engineer's personal matters like how he shouldn't be living with his girlfriend even…

I got casual farm work for the planting/sowing period and the farm boss asked me what my plans were after, I said nothing really (had no plans just needed work to fill in and earn some coin) and he asked if I wanted to stay on full time for a bit. I said I’d be keen (2 weeks ago) but now my plans have changed and I have a chance to go travelling later in June, am I an ass for quitting because of this? Very nervous to approach it as feel like I’m letting him down.

Fuck these systems we were born into and forced to participate in. Fuck congress, fuck democracy, fuck having all these labels. We're humans on earth and the earth provides for us all. I quit a job that wasn’t good for me. Big time christian conservative vibes. I was a good worker they got my sweat but but they wanted more. I needed to do more to do more. Was just told rent is going up ~24% at renewal. Looked into county records, these investment companies own half of the houses on my street. They can practically set the price whatever the heck they want if they just all gang up! Thinking about leaving my current job for a wfh job (yay no more 40 hr weeks!). What would the best exit strategy be? Is it right to give 2 weeks notice for a job where you dont need a replacement? Also worried about coworkers being upset w/ me for a whole two weeks before I leave and really don't want to deal with that.
