This out of touch simp thinks we're selfish for wanting to work from home. 100% certain her motives for getting us back are even more selfish. Greed.

Companies should owe fiduciary duty to employees. Companies should owe communities they have buildings in, or have work done in, for the Natural Capital of those communities and locations. All total monies, stocks, options, etc. and anything of monetary value paid out to executives, regardless how they name it, must have a cap of “No more than 10x the earnings of the company's lowest paid employee” and this counts temporary employees through temp agencies. When the primary duties of a job are done, workers may go home but still be paid their entire shift wage. There, capitalism is fixed. Work is fixed.
This is a genuine question that has plagued me during my time scrolling this sub. Several people here are extremely positive about the working conditions of places like France, Sweden etc. But most bigger companies are from the US. The worker rights in the county are absolutely awful but the tax breaks for companies and the motivation to go up the corporate ladder have helped in making a lot of progress over the years. I understand that both are important. But I can't find a middle ground example anywhere and I have no idea how to resolve it. So I thought I would just ask people in this sub. Increasing benefits for the population requires money and most of that money would come from tax if we were to follow the policies of European countries. But, the exceedingly high tax rates and lower pay gaps do not motivate people enough…
“So, my job is paying me 95% of my check based on the regular hourly rate. The remaining 5% is being compensated by providing me with meal rewards equivalent to my hourly rate. For example, if I work a total of 80 hours, my paycheck will reflect payment for 76 hours of work and 4 meal rewards. Each reward is calculated based on my hourly rate, which balances out my check. However, this arrangement seems somewhat questionable. Could it be related to taxes? Are they attempting to claim it as a tax write-off? Other coworkers have experienced the same situation. We are not aware of any actual payment for our meals or reimbursements for expenses. It's worth noting that it's a public adjusting firm that felt kind of shady from the beginning.
A new manager is power tripping hard
First, she complained people up here (2nd floor) were on their phones. But when we don't have any work to do, what else are we supposed to do? If there are no orders to fulfill, we don't have anything to do. Second, she's started giving me busy work, and this involves going through 4 years of open returns, and then checking every refund for 2022 to see if they actually should have been refunded. Another senior manager was confused why I was doing this, because it sounded like busy work to him. Third, she complained that everyone downstairs who is seen on their phones consistently shouldn't get their bonuses. But once again, if they have nothing to do, then who cares if they're on their phones? Fourth, she complained that I, a person who has to consistently go downstairs and back to do my job, am not at my desk…
Dressed for Success
Tomorrow my job announced that they were having a 'Dressed for Success” day. I'm sorry, but if you want me to dress for success, pay me more than $12.00 an hour.
no lunch break?
I work a 35 hour average work week so I don't legally have to take a break but I work a 10 hour shift (till midnight). everyone I've trained with has said they don't typically take a break so I'm guessing I will have to start not taking a break. this is kinda ridiculous to be honest, I understand that my job is very active and things are happening every second of the day but I feel like I still deserve a break? what's your opinion on this?
