Rude email from boss
My boss sent me a mean email and copied her boss. I read the first 2 sentences and just filed it away with the rest of the hostile emails. My question is…is it OK to just ignore the office BS and not respond to hostile emails?
Siding with Lazy Workers
I went in the other day to ask for a raise thinking I was pretty well prepared to pitch for it, I'll try to spare the details. Lately there have been a lot of inventory issues, all the prep is in my hand writing, and I'm one of two people that runs the kitchen. While we were discussing it I brought up that all the employees just stand around on their phones while I'm running around doing everything (even having picture proof of three employees doing so from one of the managers) and my boss sided with them saying they should have been told to do something as well as I should be doing less. WHY ISN'T SOMEONE AT WORKING TRYING TO DO WORK? Make things easier for everyone instead of me making it easier for everyone. I was denied a raise, promotion, and now my hours are cut. I…
So I work in a hotel kitchen and it got busy on out no where thank to no communication from the front of the house servers. Anyways we have this chicken dish that takes about 12 minutes to make with 3 sauté pans if the chicken is seared. Without it being seared it takes closer to 20 minutes. Ok so I seared the normal amount on a Thursday night shift and as the rush comes I get a chicken. Cook it, plate it sell it, bam another chicken comes in , same thing cook it, plate it sell it. This happened 3 times in a row (now I’m out of seared chicken) and as I was about to sell the last one one of the Sous chefs comes to the window and says he need a chicken, steak, and fish . So I sigh and looked up (saying f*ck to…
I’m scared
Hi guys. I'm posting here since I feel like this subreddit can relate the most. I'm in highschool right now. I grew up poor, with a single mom & a deadbeat dad so my family's always been struggling. I'm going to college next year but I have to get an apartment because of my pets. I'm just so scared. I don't know how I'm gonna afford living on my own with minimal help from my family. The college I'm going to is in a town that doesn't really have anything else, so I've heard that it can be tough getting a job there. I work pretty much full time right now, and have for a long time but all my money I'm earning is going to a surgery I need to get. I have a roomate set up and everything so that will mitigate expenses a little bit but I'm…
How can the culture here be so bad that you make me hate doing what I love??? I got laid off a while ago and spent a month and a half busting ass on my own project. (Not for money, no grindset or whatever, just self fulfillment.) Started a new job doing something I could easily spend all day doing for fun, but the CEO is such a stupid douche that he's making me hate it. Also, worse pay and benefits by far than competitors, but it was super hard to get hired and I needed the money so I took it. I know it's not a huge problem like others have, but I just think it's funny that a single person can ruin everyone's day every day and make everyone hate the thing they love. Literally all my coworkers are just about to quit as they are already working…
I had fun filling out the “ways I can improve” portions of my review this year. But hey, props to him for being up front about it so I know just how much effort to put in.
