My hubby and I live in California. He has two full-time jobs (IT for Nike and Robotics for foreign company). I’m a full-time student, do Instacart part-time, babysit 12-15 hours a week and we’re still just managing to get by?! I moved to the US almost two years ago from Germany. I’m amazed at how people can live like this for long periods of time, because I slowly feel myself burning out and neglecting school in order to focus on making more money for bills or saving up so I can see my family in the summer. All this with being scared of getting sick unexpectedly or the economy going downhill and being laid-off. How do you guys do it?

J1. I told my boss good afternoon instead of good morning and he got really offended. He thought I was commenting on his tardiness and let me go. J2. 4 years later… my new boss has a problem with me leaving 2 hours early to see my doctor. I am a cancer survivor, but I don't tell him that because people have always told me that leads to discrimination. I am forced to do PTO for the next two weeks, and then take my 2 hour leave to see my doctor for a simple visit. That same week, my boss tells me I'm being let go because I am not pulling my own weight, which is ridiculous.
I am done with this casino!
I need to rant very badly. I(24F) have been working at my casino for one year and three months. It was my first job after the pandemic and was grateful to even get a job. Now, I am ready to get the hell out!! For starters, I am a stock associate that works from 2pm-10pm, 4 days a week and considered a part-time employee. I need to watch over three gift shops to make sure they have merchandise, water, soda, and beer stocked. Wasn't bad at all but it was a bit hectic in the beginning. Got the hang of it, work got done, brought in drinks and other stuff in time, etc. Then, it got worse. Months ago, say February or late January, I was told that now I have to take care of the Pool Store and order chips/snacks, beer, water, and bring merchandise to them. I did…
In other words, you might earn poverty money, if you play your cards right.
My thread answered itself
He just got back home from getting his first round of rabies shots and antibiotics. This isnt the only issue weve had with them.
Free for all sales rep policy
I’ve been working for a company for 7 months now as a key accounts manager. When I started, they told me I’ll get a fixed salary for 6 months and from month 7 I’ll work solely on commission. I’m in a FMCG industry and been in the same industry for 13 years. I knew I’d could coin it. 2 months ago I noticed a new rep had started and targeting my existing clients. I phoned my boss and he told me it’s ‘free for all’. This is highly unethical in a sales environment. 2 days ago I handed in my resignation as this policy is completely unsustainable when I only work on commission. My boss said he ‘feels hurt and used’. The amount of delusion of this grown man is mind blowing. Anyway, I’m just happy to be out of that toxic company!
