First job – temporary, summer A camp owned by a married couple who pay teens under the table to clean cabins. The husband was a creep though and whacked me in the butt with an extension cord. (Note: they haven't owned it in a long time since they sold the camp later). Second job: temporary Inventory clerk so I had to travel to various stores with other co-workers (some out of town) to count store inventory after hours. One of the supervisors had his girlfriend work there, too. In this one store, we were told to count fast and as long as the numbers were approximate, then fine. Supervisor guy (who had girlfriend) got mad because one of my counts that day were not accurate. That was my last day of working there. Third job: Retail job of stocking shelves at a corporate store. No nepotism bullcrap of anything dumb.…
Just wondering – can my gm do this?
Context: We had a new GM take over a few months ago, and with him came more work for me to do. So, of course, I asked for more pay – and to his credit, I received an increase. Now, it is a few months later, and I am the only one of the original employees left from before he took over. Multiple other employees were here for a few months, and got raises (making the same I did) but I was left out of this raise. I found out by talking about our wages 🙂 I fought tooth and nail via emails and eventually got my “annual” raise increased to 1 dollar instead of 51 cents due to this. However, I received this email afterwards. Can he declare me ineligible for further increases now until 2024? I can’t find anything about it in our documentation.

That's it. That's the joke.
I don’t have time to think
The f*ck is this?
Using a workplace scheduling app called 7Shifts and this is one of the three options for reason given when changing availability. As if I can't just want to have my own life outside of working. The other two options in the drop down menu are “school” and “other job”.
I’m not a trading card
I read a post where someone was denied pto requested 6 mo in advance. Only gets 5 days pto a year working full time. What? We should never have to accept those types of roles. Things we can normalize. Europe has it so it’s not unworkable or unimaginable. What will it take to bring that here? – vacation. 4-6 should be standard. – fte roles. Companies like Walmart having 36 hr pt roles instead of fte is sooo wrong. Esp when those folks end up working multiple jobs and still can’t make ends meet. – affordable. health insurance that’s not tied to an employees. a high deductible plans exist bc insurance companies lobbied Congress for it. It’s soo messed up. Also anytime you switch jobs deductible starts over. It’s wayyy too expensive. – companies that keep employees for years maybe their whole lifetime like it was for current boomer generation.…
