Decline overtime?

Is it legal to decline working overtime? Most of the relatives I’ve asked have said no, that the company can require however many hours of overtime they would like. Well, my company is now requiring 6am-10pm on weekdays and usually around 7am-3pm on weekends. I don’t usually work the whole timeframe as I have doctor appointments during the day. But I’ve consistently been working 7am-10pm with a 3 hour lunch break for the appointments. My coworkers all work this schedule. My manager has now been threatening daily to terminate as I’m not a team player. I still work 50-60 hours per week, but not 80 like they want. Can I go to HR about this or is it just common due to the worker shortage?
