I just read a post where people were saying there’s no point to not shopping at Amazon, or quitting Twitter, basically taking on any big company in any way is pointless because they’re so big and powerful. But that leads to complacency. Personally I am fortunate enough that I don’t have to shop at Amazon (I realize not everyone can do this). I understand they make most of their money thru AWS, but it feels good to not give Amazon a cent more than I have to. You can utilize this in other ways. Skip Starbucks, give snacks to people on picket lines, write a strongly worded email to corporate about how they treat their employees. If I have the slightest chance to become the smallest annoyance to some higher up, I’m going to try and do that. Even if it does nothing, it feels better to try and do SOMETHING than to sit and twiddle my thumbs because it’s all pointless anyway.
Do what you can when you can.
