Have you noticed how job requirements just keep increasing while wages barely change? I remember a time when having a smartphone was more of a luxury and not expected. These days it’s like they want you to have not only your own car (public transit doesn’t even cut it anymore) but a smartphone specifically. It cant even be just a regular phone or an analog phone. Nope. These people are straight up putting that they expect you to have a smartphone in the job posting— a smartphone and reliable transportation (aka a car)— for jobs that only pay like $15 an hour. No, they don’t provide the phone for you. You have to supply it and already have one before you even apply. Employers used to supply their employees with phones if they expected them to have one for their job. Now they expect you to just already have one and use it for your job without even compensating you for that.
