How to put this down on a resume to gain an advantage?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but I kinda need to stretch the truth a bit to get an advantage? I managed to get an assistant manager job in retail, but I hated it and quit the first day. I need the money now so is there a way I can put this on my resume without it being super fishy? I cant exactly say I was hired as assistant manager for 1 day, that would look awful. How do I use this to my advantage? Im up for lying and slightly unethical advice. Thanks in advance!

Taking off work so I can travel alittle

I posted something similar not to long ago and also was told to repost this here as a stand alone thread for my fellow redditors here. I’ve been going through some physical and mental issues. I want to go do some traveling, still got my ticket to go to Europe and money for the trip. I want to go before my health keeps on declining. It’s getting to the point long flights won’t be doable for me, or at least easily anyhow, which would keep me restricted to the USA and maybe Canada and that’s it. But I would have to quit my job to go because my boss refuses to give me time off even though I got the PTO and I request it well in advance. If I quit, in the short term, I wouldn’t care. In the long term I’ll be depressed like I was before I…

Amazon DSP

I’m sure everyone is aware of the ongoing issues Amazon has had with it’s slaves ahem sorry… “employees”, but I just wanted to add that I got a text from my boss today at 2pm wanting me to come in tomorrow morning at 6am. This is just after they had a serious discussion with us as a group about how we need to give management at least a 2 week notice for time off requests. I thought it was interesting that as an employee, I get less than a half day’s notice to pick up a shift, but I am required to let management know 2 weeks in advance that I need a day off. Seems like the scales are way out of balance to me, but what do I know? I’m supposed to just shut up and do my job, while being observed by a 360° camera equipped with…

Really want regular work weeks

For anyone who works stupid hours and weekends with barley any time off , hopefully you get me. But I’m at a point now where I’d do anything for a regular 9-5 Monday to Friday schedule where after I’m done work, I’m done done for the day and don’t have to think about it till I start again, and I just want my Friday’s to feel like a Friday. Thought working for a high paying salary job would be cool but holy crap I feel like I’m on my last straw. I’m craving a regular work week schedule

What can I legally do about a boss who skimps wages and would fire me and have his other workers lie for him if I told anyone?

I get paid 9 an hour at a small-town diner in Kentucky which is open only 5 to 6 hours a day. Already horrible pay, especially in this economy, but it gets a hell of a lot worse. My typical work day is 8 hours, with 3 of those hours being opening and closing the place, yet I only get paid for the 5 hours it's open. I only get to work an average of three (paid) days a week On top of that, I am occasionally asked, yet often TOLD to volunteer my time for other forms of labor my boss needs for his business. I'd quit and demand compensation, but since I haven't worked here for too long, I'd only get a few hundred dollars so far which won't get me back on my feet by a long shot. – So I also need to know whether or…

we should all talk more about what rights and protections there are for workers.

Did you know that talking about how much money you make is a federally protected right. If you are fired or disciplined for this, you can speak to a lawyer. You may have a winning case with serious consequences for your employer for this. Know your rights. Exercise them. Protect yourself.

Sorry, Are you Saying My Options Are Bad for the Economy?

Read this piece by Boomer: How Higher Pay For Workers Could Contribute To High Inflation : NPR Guy's had the same employer since 2001, been working for 35 years, and can afford to live in Washington, DC. MY THOUGHTS: If your economy needs me to be poor, then we don't need your economy.

Red Flags in Job Descriptions I have noticed on Linkedin.

They do not list salary. (This is so they can rip you off.) Utilizes “Rockstar” in any context. (You will be overworked and underpaid if not working the job of more than one person) Mentions stupid “fun” benefits like foosball, snacks, and puppies (They don’t offer any substantial or competitive benefits) They mention they are temporarily remote but can’t wait to get back to the office(They had to open remote because their employees kept quitting. Also do they expect people to uproot and move once they decide that’s over? They want the control and shitty in office politics and want to keep you on your toes.) The qualifications are longer than the benefits. (I think this speaks for itself) They expect you to put together a presentation for your interview or want to to a group interview. (This is carrot dangling. They want free ideas/feedback and want you to be…

My own anti work moment

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about fellow employees who quit their jobs and immediately got much better offers and I have to say I never thought I’d ever have a moment like that until a couple weeks ago. I work in healthcare and the place I worked at has been under this productivity crackdown where they’re not allowing you to work more than 8 hours per day. Not measured by week, it’s by day and you get yelled at if you work overtime because they don’t want to pay OT despite that it’s an hourly position. Boss is a micromanaging nightmare, and oh so generously offered to let me use my PTO if I was under 40 hours for the week. Between that, the fact that general morale has gone to shit, and the fact that I’ve met people working at Starbucks who make nearly as much as…
