I am a 27 year old male. I have been in banking for almost 3 years and I am mind numbingly bored with it. The work (lending) does not interest me at all. I have a degree, but I’m not actually “qualified” to do anything. I would really like to change careers, but I have no idea what I would like to do. I feel completely stuck, underpaid, and unappreciated. I’m miserable all the time. Help?
Using a burner account for this one just in case. I’ve had a tough time after Covid. As much as I want to be able to go to the office, make friends and socialize I just can’t. I have crippling anxiety and as of recent, I’ve noticed myself start to slide back into a depressed state. I’ve asked multiple times to continue to work from home. I used reason, facts and numbers and even briefly mentioned my mental health on one occasion when asking to delay a client visit (something that was not necessary or in my job description). I was met with allot of hostility, they started to bring up things about my job that made no sense because all of their concerns had nothing to do with me. Many of my family members worked in security jobs basically my father did nothing he used to work nightshifts in factories watching tv they basically but I haven't spoken to him for nearly a decade. I only have a high school diploma and I don't want to work jobs that will take a physical toll on my body or too much effort and slavery labor for a penny so I'd rather work security doing nothing and getting paid the same ? how much money can I expect to get paid and which type of security jobs are the ones with the watch netflix or youtube for 8 hours and get out of there ? Is there any opportunities to get higher salary or to climb up? Which other jobs that are decent enough but don't have much tasks or physical work? I don't want to get rich I only want…
First time posting—if I do anything incorrectly please let me know and I’ll revise. I was laid off with a group of other employees from my remote job today. There is a severance agreement, and their phrasing in the meeting along with previous lies from management has me concerned that there may be a catch if I accept this. Are there any clauses/common gotchas I should be looking out for in the contract? I DO live in a state where unused PTO is meant to be paid out. I’m concerned about losing that, as I have accrued quite a bit. Thank y’all in advance! ️
I work at a commission only sales job. I am supposed to make leads and accounts for new customers then sell them, I get business for the company that they otherwise would not have. But 90% of the time customers don't move forward right away, because of many related things. So I make the lead, meet with them, set a reminder to follow-up, and leave notes visible to other sales reps about the activity. But this company also has national call centers, and sometimes the customer will call them instead, and that hourly paid phone center rep will make the sale, using my lead. I get cut out completely. And we have guidelines to protect these leads, but the company is ignoring them and will make up reasons as to why they cant compensate me for my lead. “insufficient notes” being popular. There was a previous post showing a text stream of someone getting threaded for breaching a non compete. This got me thinking, has anyone ever got fined, sued, ect. for breaching a non compete. I have never seen a company win this.
Hygiene is an afterthought to profit for this company. I stepped in dog mess while out completing deliveries in a van, and was instructed by management to continue with my shift. Personally, being stuck in a cabin with a smell of dog shit emanating from the pedals and cabin floor for hours is unacceptable working conditions in my book. But considering the dog mess is also on the floor of the tote storage area at the back of the van, this means the totes, when placed on the floor as they always are – has come into contact with the dog mess. Since they have to be stored back into the rack, dog mess on the bottom of totes is mere centimetres above from open, uncovered food items for customers such as fruits, vegetables etc. When carrying totes, this can also get on your apparel and thus your hands. Hi I’ve been a part of this subreddit for a while and currently am needing help right now. I’m a university student and work part time at the fast food chain Sonic. It’s good pay because it’s minimum wage plus tips so I can end up making pretty good money. These past weeks I’ve been working a lot more with classes over and yesterday was one of the busiest days in a while.
