No, that is why you get the best of people that are willing to endure a 12-hour interview process. And why you're understaffed. Edit: 12 hours total.
First, I have never posted in this sub so I apologize if I come across as arrogant. Long time lurker and it makes me sad to hear a lot of people go through what I used to go through everyday, and sometimes still go through. I think a lot of people in this sub are confused with the differences between loving things, being okay with things, hating things, and having no choice. I see many posts that blame others that are going through the same thing as they are for being okay with things they're not okay with. The recent trend is saying people are so okay with wanting to work 5 days a week and its so normalized because of that. Like they have some innate drive to slave their life away. People have no choice, and to say otherwise is honestly just silly. This system has been in…
Pay day was Friday. He lied and said he wouldn’t be back there till Monday (I know he was lying because his employees confirmed he was there throwing wild parties. It’s a restaurant btw) My coworker admitted he never paid him his final check either. So I show up and he claimed he’s not coming back for over an hour. Pretty sure he’s not coming back period. I live in Florida if that helps. But this moron not only pays us under the table (I offered him my information he kept saying he’d “do it later.” He never took any of our info so I know he’s not reporting our income or taking taxes from it) but his checks also bounce a lot. I know this is illegal. He can’t just not pay people. What’s the best course of action? He’s a brand new business. Oh and in addition the…
is anyone actually hiring?
Like people have signs up, they're also complaining no one wants to work but then passing over everyone that applies??? It's not just me either. Most of my friends are having a hard time right now unless they decide to work in questionable bars (even when they have a degree). At this point idk what to do but i need to make money to pay my bills. 🙁
This cant be real
I've applied to 20+ jobs in the past month.. 2 interviews, neither hired me. All the other jobs are full time, driving, or medical jobs, or jobs requiring a diploma or GED. Most of the time, each application takes 20-30 minutes and seemingly a whole psych eval with statements like “I like being under severe stress at work” with a scale of agreement. If I knew how to sell feet pics I would in a heartbeat. I graduate high school in a few months but have hopes of moving out of my foster-like placement in August and have NO money saved up. My boyfriend has money saved but I really don't want him paying for everything, I'm not ever going to make him do that for me. Neither of us have a license because my caseworker that was gonna help me left and I haven't met with my new one,…
I used to work for a company called WeWork. For those of you that have heard the horrific stories about this company, the abuse, harassment, and outright illegal activity that occurred there (and still does), trust me, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. So anyway my previous boss, ironically the HR Head, was an absolutely horrific person and embodied everything bad about the company, and she thoroughly enjoyed the abuse she dished out every day. When I resigned, several people asked me to report her to the head office, so I did. I sent a very long, detailed email with documents and voice recordings I and the the others had made over the past few months. After an investigation and many interviews with us, with threats to take the information public, surprisingly, she was fired. It was a great day. Now I see on LI that she has a…
