Cannot fuckin believe it!
Saw a sign while out running errands today… Competitive pay – $12/hr. Are they high??? (Chas, SC for reference LOL)
Waste of time
I love when a person no shows and interview and the manager gets mad about it, but today when I was asked to show up 2 hours before the store opened to have an interview and the manager never showed up, I'm told to suck it up basically. You don't like people wasting your time, but you can waste my time, my gas, and my energy just to no show me. Lowkey pissed as this was a great opportunity and they still have yet to reach out to me to apologize or reschedule and idk if it's worth reaching out to them.
I work at a boxing shipment factory ( we make cardboard) and im all done with my tasks early and my boss says “ go look for something to do”. I don’t know what to do. I just cleaned up my station and now I’m scrolling Reddit and writing this post. Any advice ? Before I get scolded at for doing “nothing”
Short and sweet- I asked my boss if I could send an email asking coworkers not to video call me unannounced since we are working from home. Boss said that was totally fine. TELL ME WHY this morning I get “a talking to” for sending said email because one coworker told my boss's boss and she did not like it. Wouldn't that be my boss's problem? Ugh I'm tired of all this.
Life isn’t so Good
The electronics company that I work for ventured into the car battery manufacturing sector a few years ago. It started out as one line and then last summer a second line was added with a third one setting up in the near future. Employees have come in knowing that the shifts are 11-12 hours a day/55+ hours a week. Most recently, because of a labor shortage, there was mandatory overtime forcing us to work up to 7 days a week. While most of us don’t want to work every single day, we all came aboard knowing we’d be working overtime. So now after a recent hiring craze, our thank you for standing by the company through unprecedented times is a reduction in pay. They are forcing us to vote on a schedule change that will have us working as little as three days in a week. One of the options…
Stood up to my boss.
So I’m a young manager in a beauty store, I’ve been working here for less than a year. I started off as a stocker and within 6 months they made me manager (red flag). So I technically do everything around the store, do orders, do inventory, payroll, everything that has to do with management for $12 dollars an hour. Yesterday I called my boss who is also the owner of the store to ask him if I could work in the morning on Saturday because something came up. I should’ve known what to expect, just a straight no, and I kind of broke because I’m tired of everything. Whenever they need me to come in I come, if someone doesn’t show up on my off day I come, if I’m sick I still have to show up. I explained how I was feeling, about my pay, and how the whole…
“You earn more by spending less”
This is a common saying among well off people that are trying to “motivate” people that are looking to make more money. As this is true, a lot of them say you have to get rid of the majority of luxury items and spend the bare minimum… That brings a few points. A lot of people are already spending the bare minimum they have because they already don't have much. How is this advice good for these people? With that advice, people already spending $10 a day should be Rollin around in money. And 2. You basically have to live without fun. Not spending money on leisure things when you're already barely able to afford leisure things is like a slap in the face. People already have to slave away at jobs, sometimes even multiple, just to make ends meet. So you're telling me the only way to become financially…
My boss messages me on teams all the time after 5.30pm. Sometimes at 12am having a go at me for something I have missed or done something wrong. His excuse is that he need to 'get stuff off his chest' when he thinks of it or see it and I’m happy to just ignore him but we’ve had numerous people have huge meltdowns because they think they have to do it right there and then. My colleagues higher up have told him not to do this due to it causing anxiety. Does anyone else have this issue?
