This is Within our Grasp
I resigned from my job yesterday at a poorly run business, the reasons for me leaving are an inconsistent pay schedule, broken promises (I.e. benefits, time off etc.) and bullying. I have offered to finish out the month so as to not put them in a bad position, however the owner (my boss) is bringing up my contract (ends in September) and how I’ll be voiding it and will owe him thousands of dollars. As far as I’ve heard however the contract was voided on their part by violating my rights as an employee. Should I just leave now or should I finish out the month hoping that they don’t come after me for the money.
ive been working for a distribution depot for a retail store for 3 years now. today was it for me. i was talking to a coworker in the backroom where they keep the equipment. i went in there looking for a machine to get on and i ran into him in there doing the same. we chatted for at the most one minute about trying to get one to help run merchandise and a very quick word about something else unrelated (god fobid theres just a moment of socialization on the floor and be normal humans here and there for quick moments such as this) and our fat fucking powertripping supervisor was stalking us outside of the backroom. later on we both got a counseling notice. told him im not signing shit and he said its a write up next time he catches us. you literaly cant fucking stop working…

My Contract Was Terminated
I recently was hired for a position and everything was going great. Overall the job wasn't to bad but the training for it was severely lacking. About 3 months into the contract I got severely sick and had to miss 2 days of work. I went to the doctor and got a doctor's note. I showed up the following day and was told my shift had been moved and to come back the next day. I didn't think anything of it, I figured I missed something while I was out sick. I asked who I could give my doctor's note to since I was there and they said my manager the next day. So I showed up to my shift and my manager pulls me aside and says I'm being terminated due to unscheduled call outs. I showed them my doctor's note and told him I called the company when…
I work 2 hours a week get paid for 40
As the title says, I don't actually work infact I'm bored out of my wits. Not saying this to show off but given my background, I'd say i've come a long long long way. Started off in a call centre taking 30-40 calls a day. To present day where I plan the work I need to do and complete it within 2 hours. I'm in Europe. Got given a pay rise after a year of being with company which equals to extra €117 ($127) extra per month. I get 60 days holiday. I work permanently from home 4 days a week as the company has decided to do a permanent 4 day work week. My dream was to work in America, perhaps even live there. But based off the what this sub has shown, I won't be ever setting foot there, maybe for a holiday but not to live.
I just finished college and am gearing up to start my career this fall. But in the mean time, I grabbed a full-time position at a grocery store for the summer, with the potential of staying on weekends or even just one day a week once my actual career starts up. I was transparent about this at the interview and the store manager, assistant manager, and even most of the department managers are fair and not trying to work the staff into the dirt which is awesome. But it's the coworkers who have been working at the store for 15 years and are in the same position as me, or “team leaders” who are one step above normal staff. They are the ones making my job miserable with micromanaging. While working Backstock on a slow day I paused in the warehouse for a moment debating if I should take my…
