Just seen a commercial talking about “Washington passing policies isn’t the answer” and then they had a website. But there’s no information. Does anyone know what this is about or is it just another corporation trying to capitalize off the average persons struggle? Website : https://americansforprosperity.org
Got through all the paperwork in one day. Mere minutes after submitting it, I received and was alerted to a background check and obliged. The next day at work I had all new responsibilities and expectations and have been doing the extra work for three weeks now. Manager keeps moving the goalpost. All the paperwork and credentials got knocked out in a matter of minutes; the payraise? Oh that'll take until Sunday. Oh sorry not today, we'll get it in by Tuesday. Oh, what? That still hasn't gone through? I'll call the office… Office says you should be good on Friday. What do I do? I'm actually livid. I really need that raise and I've been doing tasks that have been put upon me in exchange FOR the raise. They've shorted me nearly $600 in the last three weeks alone just by NOT giving me the raise. I'm going in…
pto problems
so this might be kind of an obvious answer but i have some questions with how i should go about this. i requested off for a few days back in april as my company’s PTO policy is weird, and you basically lose all of your PTO on your anniversary date, then earn it again throughout the year. i wanted to use my pto before i lost it so picked some random days to take off. everything was approved as normal and i was able to take off. the issue came a week after those days i had off, when i wasn’t paid for most of my PTO. i contacted my payroll department, HR, my supervisor – everyone i needed to to get things sorted out because this happened over the course of two weeks. come to find out, even though i was approved for all the PTO that was submitted,…
Coworker seems to be mentally unwell just based off this rant he went on. I was the only other one in the breakroom he was frustrated something didn't work and he said a lot of all the wall things but at some point got on the topic of work and said “I'm already close to blowing out my own fucking brains why shouldn't I just take care of this place as well and then run away as far as I can” He's relatively new and no one knows him that well and he does everything he can to avoid interacting with us all. I told my direct manager and then told the manager above him and how I felt unsafe due to what he was insinuating and was just told they'd “follow up with him and see what's going on and I shouldn't feel unsafe” I talked to a few…
3 guys all in their 30’s buying cabins in woods in northern Michigan. No gas, no electric just hunting, fishing and chopping wood. All had decent jobs, but were sick of getting kicked around at work. I’m rooting for them.
What the actual fuck?
My employer doesn’t offer PTO until after the first year of employment. Then, they check if you’ve worked an average of 30hrs/week the first year and if you have, you get THAT average in PTO. If you didn’t work an average of that, then you’re just SOL. Here’s the thing…I’ve told my employer from the start that I want 40hrs/week. My first client in the 1st year was pretty much my only one. They didn’t offer me any more clients to GET the hours I wanted. It’s like they purposely scammed me out of getting PTO. I’m fed up that whenever I want to go on vacation those days will be unpaid and my check will be extremely shorted. This is just a gist of the shitty, cheap “benefits” the company provides. We don’t get bonuses, holiday gifts…nothing. I’ve been here for 2 years and I’ve not received one cash…
I love reading people’s posts here, as someone who is now disabled and can’t work it does not make me miss retail at all. I feel for all of you. But so many of these ridiculous customer stories has reminded me of this one time I started working at a wholesale store. It was like my second week and someone came up to the side of my register, which was right in front of customer service, and asked if I could redeem her bottle return receipt for her. I said unfortunately I couldn’t, that’s not something we have the ability to do at the register, she would have to go to customer service. She was so sweet and polite to me up until I said that and she called me a lazy fat-ass 🥴 I was young and was so taken aback but couldn’t help but laugh after because HUH??…
