Pretty much what the title states. I work a job that requires a full 8 hours a day to finish and my boss wants me to do my and my (now ex) coworkers job in the same amount of time everyday. I’m unionized so he can’t personally give me a raise to incentivize the work so what do I do? Tell him no? Ask for a raise anyway? I don’t feel I should have to do two peoples work just because they quit. Any advice?

On the job hunt. Submitted an application for an R&D role at a big company in Europe. In the cover letter I wrote about some of the biggest problems they're having and how I'm keen and qualified to help tackle them. I know of these issues because its my job to know and everyone in this industry is having these particular problems. It's a technical issue in exploring and processing alternative raw materials because, due to climate change, the favoured raw material is dying out. I have a mortgage and about £30 in my bank account. Every month is a stretch and a struggle.. meanwhile some friends I know watch TV all day, go shopping, do a ton of drugs and sit back and relax whilst money flows into their bank. They have another £300 coming this month as well ‘cost of living’ payment. But no payments are given to those who work. I feel like I’ve done it all wrong. I should have got knocked up, got a council house and been a stay at home mum. Instead both my partner and I don’t have any kids as we can’t afford to regardless of us both working full time. I can’t say I wasn’t ambitious at some point. I got though nursing school, but once I got into the field I hated it immediately. Shortly after I did everything in my power to get away from patient care. I now work as a remote nurse for an insurance company. The job isn’t difficult and hardly stressful, but the pay also isn’t the best. However, I now have no ambition to find something else or work my way up. Even if I wanted to change paths, I wouldn’t even know where to start. I just feel like I’ve plateaued while everyone else is pushing towards something better. Anyone else feel this way? Is this just societal pressure? The feeling fucking sucks.

I work with Ann, she and I are both senior financial analysts. Ann was on vacation and I handled her work. She returned and first thing she did was blow up teams to tell our team that her work was done wrong. I came in and explained what and how I did it. She later whispers to me and says thanks. Turns out, she was confused or forgot how it was done. She never responded to my explanation on teams. Kinda left it like I was at fault.
