I started as an hts about 2 months ago. Its working with a special needs adult, and i do night shifts. If hes good, as in not pooping himself repeatedly or trying to fight staff hell get to go on a 3 day trip for his birthday. I asked how thatll work, if i just show up to the hotel on my nightshifts and she said “well ill just have you take him for the 3 days, itd be 64 hours straight so a good paycheck”. Fuck no, i make 15 an hour and the agreement is id work 44 hours a week, im not doing 3 days straight with no days off, then working 2 moee days, fuck that. I left my job as a correctional officer doing 70 hours a week specifically because they didnt honor the schedule they gave me. I was only aupposed to do 48…
I work for a small local business, I make $24/hr during the busy season and $18 during off season. My employer had me sign a contract a few weeks ago that stated I would be making $24/hr until November 1st, at which point it would then be $18/hr for the season. I was okay with this and signed the contract. However today I noticed that he also paid me $18/hr for the last week of October so I got a significantly shorter paycheck than I was expecting. I’m assuming this happened because Nov. 1st fell half way through the pay period so he just did 18$ for the whole week. But regardless I feel like he did not hold up his end of the contract, I was expecting to make a higher wage for most of the week and didn’t, so now my budget is all messed up for this…
I guess I could lead off by saying the hourly pay is still pretty nice for my area, so I will probably still do it. I'm upset though because that means what I though was a feature bringing in extra money will actually be eating into my hourly wages. The facility I will be working for is less than 10 minutes away from my house. It was my understanding going in that I would be going to this facility in the morning and then heading out into the surrounding areas to do deliveries, getting paid by the hour and the mile. I was just told (a couple days before I start) that they want me to do deliveries that are over an hour away, and will not be compensating me for gas to get there. These miles (while highway) would be probably at least 3/4 of my driving for the…
I sent in a salary negotiation letter to my boss over 5 weeks ago. In it I talked about since I was hired I’ve had more and more duties delegated to me, and even more are expected on the horizon. No full response in over a month, and only a few mentions of it. Most recently, a short “I haven’t forgot about this” email. So how do I handle it? I feel dumb having to remind one of the highest ranking individuals in the company how to do their job. I’m one of his only few direct reports, and I don’t think I’m asking for an overly generous increase in pay.
I work part time at a local bar and the owner is an older guy. He probably comes in once a week to check on things. I already wear outfits that are pretty tight and/or revealing (tight dresses, leggings etc.) Anyways, the other day he came in to check on things and and he told me “if you wear more skimpy outfits, you’d get more tips”… I didn’t even know what to say back to him at that point.
