I am not sure how to approach this, my boss expects me to work, during each meetings I go to. I always said I cant because I cannot do 2 things at once, which I think is reasonable as no one else on the meeting is actively working at the same time. My “no” is never enough, how am I supposed to approach this in a professional way? edit : Im also a non english speaker so even if my english is fluent, it still requires an effort for me to proactively listening.
1099 No Contract Quitting Process
I’m a 1099 (reasonably sure I’ve been wildly misclassified, thanks to this sub) and I got a new job… I have no actual contract, and my job (at a small company) is wildly toxic Do I have to give notice? I feel like since they wanted me 1099 as a way to save money and no contract so they could just bounce me out of they wanted, I don’t need to?
I'm in the restoration field. When I started I was an hourly employee, asked for a raise it was either a 2$ an hour increase or go to commission. I started commission, they gave me a 1300 draw a week. It started at 20% then 2 months later it was changed to 15%. I want to make clear they owe me money and never seen a commission check. I go in today and get a letter of my new pay format. It's hourly with bonuses. It's a pay decrease… can my boss constantly change the way I'm paid? It said 24 an hour with bonuses, I told them it's either 27 an hour with bonuses or how were doing things now or I'm gone and putting my 2 weeks in. Say they don't go through with either option and I put in my 2 weeks.. can I call the department…
Telling my boss what I should and shouldn’t be doing 🤣 her boyfriend won’t stop picking on me either . Idk if I should quit just because of these two bellends bcoz I get on with everyone else mostly but they make it miserable for me to work there . They’re extremely rude to me when I ask questions and she’s like ‘you’ve been here for x months you should know this by now ‘ and at the same time she tells everyone to ask for help if they Are unsure 🤣 she pulls faces whenever I talk , I’ve heard her loudly talk shit about me behind my back , she’s passive Aggressive and she’s always watching my interactions with patients and telling me how I should do things . I don’t mind her correcting me but she does it in a very passive aggressive manner , her boyfriend…
Backstory: I work for a large company and last summer I took a seasonal role. Before taking the role my boss at the time requested four weeks to find a replacement before I moved into the role. The role was the same pay so I wasn't too worried but it was a complete failure where my “transition time” was basically the last three days of that four weeks I ended up training for my new position and training the new person for my old position. The season ended about four weeks ago and I was moved back into my old position. Because of the way the department was funded, there were previously no full time positions and everything was seasonal. Now, four weeks later, I am moving back into the department for a pay bump and my boss once again wants four weeks (the amount of time I've been in…
I’m now unemployed.
Predatory Recruiting is such bullshit
Last job I had said “Top performers earn $$$ (insert ridiculous amount of money), and can earn ($$$$) in their 2nd year!” Bare mind I’m still relatively young and new to the business world so I can afford to get swindled like this, as I did at my previous job. However, when I see people who have families, more responsibilities and higher pressure to succeed at a job, come in because they’ve been LIED to about how much they’re “pretty much guaranteed” to make? That kind of shit makes me infuriated. So many people get duped into working jobs that are not even remotely close to their description/pay. All of this so recruiters can hit a quota and so people already working there can have some new blood to bully. The resulting punishment of lying to people in order to get them to accept a job? Absolutely nothing. Fuck corporate…
As the title states. I even requested 2 of my senior coworkers to check my work before submission and that didn't happen. So mistakes went out the door. I developed a test program which the equipment failed. Boss still thinks I screwed up. (The company never even had a test program before) On top of that, the company definitely has OSHA violations that should be reported. I have had minimal training and almost no support on my projects. Been looking for other jobs and so far just interviewing once per month for the past 6 months. I've had offers but it's for night shift. Really considering quitting with no notice and nothing lined up because this behavior isn't going to stop.
So today I left work 20mins early due to a power cut (and I had already completed my work ) , the office space was complete dark so me and my Co worker left and I sent my manager a text that ” I'm outside my office because there's no power ” and he replied 20mins later saying ” okay sure ,we will discuss it tomorrow ” which surprised me We've had this type of powecut in the past a few times and I used to help out in sections I wasn't supposed to work in where there was still light and then these other 2 times he's allowed both of us to leave during the power outages that happened near our knockoff time because there is no use for us without a working stations . Waiting to hear what is it that we are going to discuss tomorrow ,…
