Position vacant for months. Don’t accept a job that doesn’t give you flexibility.

He thinks by then applicants will be more desperate for any offer he gives them.
Might be getting a new job
So I’ve been on the hunt for awhile, but really kind of holding out for something in the field that I’m going to school for. I do some volunteer work with a place and they are thinking of creating a new position and basically said it’s mine if I want it. It would be in the field I want to go into, would mostly be remote, would be a huge pay increase, and a better balance of school, work, and life. I’ve been so insanely stressed at my current job. My boss is a dick who doesn’t know what she’s doing and everything is just so negative there. I don’t feel supported and I feel like I’m just a body taking up space. I find out about what is happening with this position tomorrow and I’m so anxious that I don’t know if I can sleep!
Boss is sending kind of mixed signals
So I posted about an issue previously regarding being placed in a lower paying position than I applied for, it turns out it was a mistake and they corrected it when I brought it up. Okay. It's been some time since I began working and the boss is giving kind of both good and bad signals. The green flags they're giving off are always being thankful to the employees as they leave, and always remaining calm and collected. However the employer is also giving red flags off. Namely, “put your coat and stuff away before you clock in” and having unrealistic time expectations for things. For example, if a burger takes 1 minute to cook and assemble for a person going at full speed, they expect 30 burgers in 30 minutes, without factoring in things like a person getting burnt out at that speed or things like needing to walk…
Just a bit miffed
So I’m at work at a tire warehouse/ distribution center. One of my coworkers brings me a metal pallet with the last few tires I need for this load with her fork lift. I grab a few tires. She sees me grabbing these tires after she told me to grab em Proceeds to move the forklift with this pallet full of tires towards me and knocks me over, not paying attention. Accidents happen, but I’m sure y’all understand that I was not too happy. All I did was toss the tires off of me, stand up, threw my hat on the floor, that’s it. Didn’t say a word to her, didn’t even look at her. SHE jumps out of her fork lift and starts yelling at me for daring to be mad about what had happened. “I know you ain’t giving me no attitude. Who the fuck you think you…
Jobless and beginning to lose hope
So, I resigned from my last job in September because I had a surgery scheduled in November that requires a 6-8 week recovery time and they told me I couldn’t take more than 3 weeks in a row. I had a good amount of money saved, and I planned on looking for a new job while I was recovering from surgery. Currently, I’m 4 weeks post-op, and I really started cracking down on the job search at around 2 weeks. I majored in film, and my dream is to be able to work as a video editor for a reputable company with pay that won’t leave me just barely scraping by. But I also know that it’s a very competitive field, so I’ve been applying for tons of other jobs, too. I’d say I’ve applied to more than a hundred jobs at this point, and I often try to go…
I didn’t get a promotion because I didn’t have “as much experience” and because feedback she has been given is that I am a “know it all.” She could not provide any context, examples, clarity, ways that I can improve – nothing. She could not tell me where I was lacking in experience or where the others who got the job were stronger. I was honest in stating that I was disappointed and frustrated, and did not understand how I had been deemed a “know it all.” I brought up examples of when 2 other coworkers had been visibly upset around all of us at the office, but she pretended like she did not know what I was referring to… I explained, and pointed out that these two instances were in front of the entire team. She then abruptly ends the meeting. We silently walk out. After a minute of…
Tacobell & Luihn VantEdge Partners (LVE Partners LLC) Arizona Branch As the holiday season approaches, many of us are looking forward to spending time with our loved ones and enjoying well-deserved time off from work. But for employees of the local Taco Bell franchise, this holiday season brings disappointment and frustration, as the company has announced that it will not be providing holiday pay to its crew members and shift leaders. This news is particularly galling, as the franchise has revealed that it plans to throw an expensive corporate party for itself, complete with lavish decorations and expensive food and drinks. This is particularly frustrating, as the company has reported record profits this year. Many employees are feeling disrespected and undervalued, especially given the hard work and long hours they have put in throughout the year. It is a bitter pill to swallow, knowing that the company is willing to…
