Somebody underage came to my job and assaulted me. My job ended up suspending me and never calling me back. Is this illegal ?

I did defend myself by holding her down. The police were called and I have a statement they also have footage. My job ended up never texting me back or answering my questions. Is this illegal ? Is there anything I can do
