Tracked my emotions and what I’m doing every half an hour to see what motivates me, it got me thinking if we could use data like this to break status quo around work?

Hi guys. I’ve been down an intense rabbit hole recently exploring what actually motivates me I’ve been tracking the emotions i feel throughout the day, and the types of activities I’m doing every half an hour and then doing analysis to see if i can notice patterns and test out different strategies. Hi guys. I’ve been down an intense rabbit hole recently exploring what actually motivates me

I’ve been tracking the emotions i feel throughout the day, and the types of activities I’m doing every half an hour and then doing analysis to see if i can notice patterns and test out different strategies.

I’ve learnt quite a lot: eating schedule for best moods, what activities help trigger certain emotions (e.g. excitement, satisfaction), my most productive hours (which is not 9-5) and how I have a few avoidance behaviours that I thought make me feel better which don’t when I look at the data. It’s weirdly empowering.

I’m wondering if there is anyone else out there who gets a kick out of things like this. Anyone know of communities trying something like this? Articles etc?

The anti-work in me feels like we could use data like this to prove the unhappiness and inefficiency of modern day working practices
