I'm 24, just finishing up a masters program. Currently I work as a project coordinator at my school, a position that's student workers only so I'll lose it when I graduate. My boss is trying to convince his hire ups to hire me on after because of some of the work I've done (totally revamped our internship system and now working on a university wide version of it). I've been doing the networking thing and applying. I've talked to multiple CEOs and founders in my field; they're interested in my thesis work (I make interactive multimedia systems that are disability friendly) and always say they want to talk more, then never do. I apply to their companies and hear nothing back. They talk about how they're excited to see disabled people building the type of tech that works for us, and then never want to integrate my tech into their businesses.
I need a job by May, my lease is up in June. It's seriously starting to feel like I might be legitimately fucked and I don't know what to do. I don't have any family except my younger brother who I live with, so moving back into my parents' place isn't an option. My fiancee works a job that can pay her part of bills and not much else, so if I can't find some sort of full time work I'm fucked.
