Are you allowed wifi access at your place of work?

At my job, there is no wifi (at least at my store) . I work at a popular grocery retailer in the US. We are known for customer service and we often use the internet to answer customer questions, but we have to rely on our data plans. At breaks, I would like to work on my online college from my laptop and since it doesnt have data, I either have to use a hot spot or travel somewhere else, which definitely eats into my break time. I’ve asked coworkers about this and they say “that’ll never happen” when I ask about wifi. I think they won’t provide it because we might use it inappropriately, but I think that wifi should be a right for us to use during breaks. Just curious about what others situations might be.
