I broke my hand on purpose to avoid going to work but still get paid. I worked as an agent in a call center. I hated that job. It was overwhelming, everyone would just call and complain. It was a Sunday night. And after a soothing weekend. I did not want to go to back go work. In Dubai, the only way to avoid going to work and still get paid is to provide a sick-leave attested from the hospital. I already had a tough week and I was going through a lot. I was mentally Exhausted! As time was passing rapidly, I desperately wanted to skip work on Monday. I was so desperate that I was was trying to get myself sick However, getting sick only lands you a 1 approved day sick leave. Then that’s when I got the IDEA to break my hand. I got PIFPAF (…
so I have worked for this company for 8 months and I absolutely love it I love the pay I love the benefits I love the work. I recently switched departments a few weeks ago for a really good pay raise! this department is completely different from the other one… well so far I've gotten written up 4 times since I've switched a couple of them are valid for safety reasons which I completely own and agree with but other ones are completely out of line that I had no idea I was breaking. I was given no prior warning just automatic write up and now my job is at risk if I get written up again! these write ups have been discussed in the presence of HR… what should I do? I really dont want to find another job…
I’m alive.
I'm 42. I was released from the hospital yesterday after having a heart attack that nearly killed me in front of my 8yo. Fuck Monster. But more importantly fuck jobs that work you so fucking hard for so long that you feel you need it to function. My boss doesn't give a single fuck that I have 3 stents in my heart. They'll try everything they can now to get rid of me because THEY made me a liability. Monster doesn't fucking care, either. They'll miss my money, not me. Take care of yourselves, comrades. You only have one life. Don't let them take it from you. Don't burn yourselves at the altar of the dollar. None of those fat pigs will miss you. Only your family and friends will. Act accordingly.
Yall read Soft Apocalypse?
Its by Will Mcintosh and I think its where the world is heading for sure. The ending is a bit idealist possibly, but has some good socialist ideas and the main characters view on sex and women is a tad off putting, but not so much so that I had a bad time reading it. Anyway I finished it last night and it just rings true for me. Blue collar and then white collar people becoming homeless, wars that make no sense. Its great! (and sad and scary). If there's any readers here yoy should def give it a go, its only 200 pages or so!
I’ve worked at this place for just over a year and it was supposed to be a “career”. But I now hate the job because of my boss and want to give my 2 months notice. We work in a small office and the only people working for his company are me and him. There are other people in the office but our work is only us two. Since moving into a permanent role, I’ve been belittled in front of the whole office, told I’m not doing good enough (but then not receiving any support), and I’ve consistently been the only one to ever get picked on “for fun”. The workload and his attitude have made me break down in and out of the office multiple times and the stress is eating away at my body. He once told me that he “would be surprised if I wasn’t having breakdowns”.…
A lot has happened over the past 7 months so I'll try to be brief. Currently I'm working as a security guard at a hospital. I've been here for a year and a half working the night shift. Last July we get a new guy who's been a security guard for many years, just not at the same facility. He's twice my age, so I imagine he's not too keen on being corrected but if he does something wrong I gotta say something. One example of things I've had to say to him is “Don't invite nurses to sleep in your truck with you.” Within a month of being here he received several formal, written complaints. He's a notorious asshole. A few other guys I've worked with has told the boss about it too, but he is still here. The guy flipped his shit on me a few times, in…
It cant be this easy…
I see now how its so easy for people to “embezzle” money from companies. I just fell into a new role where I can pretty much “hire” who ever I want as a contractor and pay them whatever both I and the contractor see fit. My boss can approve up to a set amount each time and theoretically without any limit assuming the company has the money… They obviously do if the only person I have to go through is my supervisor. In summary, go into business for your self, make friends with a project manager at a big company with deep pockets and charge them what you think you're worth. Fuck if I didnt have a moral compass and a desire to not deal with any potential blow back I'd submit a vendor under a different alias and start cranking out repair work for pennies on the dollar to…
