Hey guys, I recently interviewed for a fintech position. The recruiter asked what my salary expectation is and I mentioned that my absolute bare minimum is X amount. Now, normally when I’m asked that question, I counter-ask with what their salary range is but I was a little flustered as I thought the interview may not have been going so well. The recruiter mentioned that my X amount fell into their range but I’m not sure how truthful that was. The position is Payment Operations Analyst. If I’m given another interview, how would y’all recommend I leverage a higher salary? Thanks
I got humiliated yesterday (help?)
Yesterday at work I got berated and made an example out of in front of my coworkers over a pair of socks. I was doing the job just fine with no problems but apparently being uncomfortable is more important than being good at the work. My boss took $5 from my check to give me one pair of hanes socks in front of the whole kitchen. He then told me to put them on or leave. I was wearing black socks but they were ankle socks cause I’m in Texas and it’s hot and we rotate outside work. I don’t wanna go back there or talk to anyone there but I have no other income. Since day one I’ve gotten treated wrongly. What would you do?
I applied and got a job as a manager for a specific department in a small business. It went fine… for 2 days. Some people in my team started acting out towards me and being downright rude, which I discussed with my manager right away. Turns out I was hired to do things that were not included in the JD, not discussed during the interviews, and that make me usually turn downs jobs when I am looking. My manager and I agreed on a small amendment to my work hours to make my commute easier, and again after a few days it is being revoked because the rest of the team expects me to stay later and work on things that were not included on the JD. My dudes, I’m tired. If you want someone to do certain tasks, fucking SAY SO during interviews. I would not have taken the…
I feel like this sub could work well with r/OSHA or maybe pair up with the folks form r/Workersstrikeback. We have that. We could have that. It'd be lovely to see more than complaining about someone's shitty manager or Elon still breathing. I feel as though May 1st went completely passed by. I heard nothing of it day of or after. Unless I missed something in which case please let me know. Just something needs to be actively and sometimes physically done about how we're all treated. I've done it. I've let OSHA know about this shitty warehouse that could easily get someone killed. They sent someone out just yesterday.
sick of it
I started at this company 3 years ago and finally found a place i liked and was getting paid what i deserve. After 6 months covid came and I lost it all. After being laid off for 8 months i was able to transfer to a different store doing something else for half the pay but it was close to home and it's not like any opportunities were popping up at the time. The whole reason i stayed at the company was for a certain job and i got passed up on it (i do take some blame because i had some lates) but they gave it to a kid that was 2 years out of school vs. my 10 years of experience. I have to watch him everyday while I'm really struggling to keep my ship afloat and put food on the table for my family, I work a…
Holy Hy-Vee
Corporate level, staff position was just eliminated. Got moved to a grocery store to sort veggies at a $20k pay cut. Asked for time off, got denied because I didn't ask for it 2 weeks in advance. I have been in this position 5 days. Fuck these people.
I automated some portions of my job.
I automated some portions of my job, tasks that took hours now take seconds. Which has a knock on effect that we can cycle the automation after making changes and do a better job for our clients. I passed some, not all of this knowledge to my boss. Yesterday afternoon I rang my boss, it took him a while to answer and he had clearly been having a little sleep. I think my automation is appreciated.
is being paranoid a sign of exhaustion?
Of course if your scattered and financially strapped you've probably got more than one problem that rubs people up the wrong way . That aside is paranoid thinking a sign of exhaustion.
